Re: The Barclays and other non-Lloyds/TSB Bank thread

Just got a pleasant surprise in the post. Two days ago I visited a Virgin Money branch to request a new debit card as my current one wasn't working in certain third party ATMs (it was being spat back out without even letting me enter the pin due to the black stripe being damaged - it worked fine ...

I think its the right thing for WHSmith to divest themselves of those shops. At the end of the day, WHSmith as a shop was in need of an evolution. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: it needs a clear direction. At the moment, WHSmith is a mess. Its trying to do so much- its a newsagents ...

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

Recently I had a till receipt in Sainsbury's that decided not to print out the bar code, so had to wait for the checkout assistant to let me out.

My experiences of the exit gates are usually good, but there have been times where the barcode scanners simply don't read them or they've had to take ...

Re: The Barclays and other non-Lloyds/TSB Bank thread

I'm not sure if it's happening to other Barclays' branches outside Central London, but the Oxford Circus branch is extending their opening hours from April 7th from 9.30am-4.30pm on weekdays, which resembles pre-Covid opening hours.

Perhaps they realised they've cut too many branches in ...

PepCo are considering selling Poundland. This doesn't affect Dealz in Ireland.

Again they're blaming the NI increases in April which will "add further pressure" to the UK business.

I might be in the minority here but is it just me that doesn't understand why The Range is opening Homebase Garden Centre's. There's lot of things I think about Homebase, mostly expensive stuff for people who don't do DIY but definitely not it's gardening side.

Unless you're thinking about ...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

Poundland's strategy of going into providing convenience stores appears to be not working either. The Poundland Local store in my area now closes at 7.30pm Mon-Sat rather than 9pm which is 30 mins earlier than the nearest standard Poundland.
