*That* is how the internet works - everyone steals from everyone else. By hiding the content behind a sign up requirement, it just encourages everyone else to copy & paste.barcode wrote: Wed 05 Oct, 2022 14.04 A moderator, AN actual moderator , of A rival forum within MINS of content being postage on a different forum just copied and pasted stuff to their forum ( if it was the next day and by a member then It may will not have been so bad) . That shabby as hell, If that is the level a forum team would go to, to try and get more views and follows ie just nicking content from there rival.. then it just make it clear to everyone talk have NOTHING to offer people.
If the admin team thought they could get a discussion exclusive on this story then they were sadly misguided. The only thing TVTF have done wrong is to copy and paste from their site when they could have just reworded it and done nothing wrong. Banning members on PC for talking about things on another forum is just hilarious and pathetic. TVTF shouldn't go along with this either, bowing down to their competitors and banning discussion - simply reword the content that was taken and then reopen the thread - the only claim PC have against you is copyright infringement, they have no recourse about you discussing what they have posted, only your use of their exact words.
I can't wait for the next time someone copies and pastes something from The Times, Broadcast or other paywalled media outlet into PC and they have to delete it and ban the user, even if the content is interesting and relevant, just to avoid claims of hypocrisy.
If this story had been broken in a Broadcast exclusive, I have zero doubt that the relevant bits would have been copied and pasted into both fora.
