I know it's not related but it's being discussed there, seeing as Sky now have a 16:9 native EPG why is Virgin's STB software so terrible? Freeview boxes outstrip it for fuck's sake, nothing like using a severely outdated software platform based on HTML 4.

I'm glad to know that any presenter who happens to be in the sky building is automatically required to be on screen to appease "lost the remote".

What both he and Worzel are trying to say is - "if I worked there I would jump in to help at any moment, and would sleep under the desk".

Once they are working for a few years they'll perhaps appreciate that, unless you own the company, its difficult to inspire oneself to volunteer your entire life to it.

In the Newsroom:
bbcsport wrote:EDIT: how coincidental that as these specials go on air, the news breaks of the latest shooting. Confirmation of the police officer's death came just after BBC1 came off the air. UTV rolling with updates, and had a live two-way with a local politician. Surprised, tbh, that the Beeb haven't come back on air.
I don't want to turn this tragedy into some point scoring exercise but this is incorrect information.

The terrible confirmation of a police officer's death came on BBC ONE Northern Ireland a good ten minutes before UTV reported it within their programme. Mark Carruthers had reaction from three or four local politicians before the Spotlight programme ended.

I suspect that "bbcsport" was watching UTV and only turned over to BBC ONE Northern Ireland after he heard the news break on UTV, which was well after Spotlight had reported it and the programme had subsequently ended.

That there Paul Akinbola fella ain't too smart, be he? Seems stuck in the mid to late 90's given what he uses as points of reference, just wonder what compels him to return time and time again. At least the Aldritts had the decency to know when they were beat.
If ITV sold the Leeds studios to Box Television Ltd who run music channels such as 4Music, The Box, Kiss, Q and Kerrang, just like TVS sold Maidsone studios to the Family Channel, the studios would keep open.

Just wondering, but is it only me who can see the BBC News Presenters & Rota's thread in the newsroom? Nobody seems to be using it anymore...

I can't see it, maybe it's been vanished and finally our one day petition some months ago finally succeeded.
